Product Introduction
RPMI 1640 medium uses a sodium bicarbonate buffer system (2.0 g/L), contains reduced glutathione, and features elevated concentrations of vitamins, conferring distinct functional properties compared with other media. It is available in Super Low Endotoxin (SLE) grade, with endotoxin levels ≤ 0.1 EU/mL.
Product Application
RPMI 1640 medium was developed in 1966 by Moore et al. through an improved formulation of McCoy’s 5A medium; it is primarily used to support the growth of lymphoblasts in suspension culture and is now widely used for culturing various adherent cell types.
